Karen Leigh Somers-Franklin, 56, of Lynchburg passed away at her home on Saturday, June 11, 2016.
Karen had many interests in life, but most important to her were her family and friends. She loved to laugh and will be missed by everyone who knew her. She is finally breathing easy and dancing with her son.
Karen leaves behind her daughter, Amy Jones of Lynchburg; her mother Shirley Somers of Fredericksburg; a brother, Linwood Somers (Laurie) of Tennessee; and five sisters, Donna Lancaster (Steve) of Fredericksburg, Teresa Shields (Robert) of Lynchburg, Lisa Berry (Ronnie) of North Carolina, Juanita Phillips (Keith) and Jeannie Carlson (Kevin), both of Fredericksburg.
She also leaves behind eight grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews; and a host of other family members and friends.
Karen was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Franklin; her father, Linwood Somers; and her son, Donald Somers.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate Karen's life at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 18, at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. 470, Karen Leigh Somers Franklin
