Obituary Online notes for Glenn Dale MILLER
Glenn Dale Miller, loving father, husband, brother and son, who will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He died at the age of 79 after a brief illness.
Glenn grew up in Glendale, California and graduated from Herbert Hoover High School.
He then served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War as a Sergeant (Finance Expert) stationed in Seoul, South Korea. He earned the Korean Service Medal and U.N. Service Medal.
Following his military service, Glenn graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of the Americas in Mexico City with a B.A. in business administration. While attending the university, he met and married his first wife. They had three children while living in Mexico City before deciding to permanently move the family to Southern California in 1962.
Glenn had such enthusiasm for life, where his adventurous spirit led him into many interesting careers. Among them, a magician, hotel manager, toy manufacturer, pilot, stockbroker, and for the past 30 plus years had been an insurance broker selling health insurance to various school districts throughout California. At the age of 50 he discovered his love for skiing. His other passions included tennis, grilling on the barbecue, traveling, spending time with his second wife, his children (either from blood or from marriage), family, and many friends.
Glenn was preceded in death by his older brother, Arthur "Bud" Allen Miller (1925-1976), and by his parents LaMar Silverthorne Miller (1895-1964) and Lydia "Dorothy" Amelia Hansen-Miller (1901-1977). He is survived by his younger brother.
Glenn was cremated at the Conejo Mountain Funeral Home in Camarillo, California, and his ashes given to his second wife. A Service of Remembrance was held on 5 Mar 2010 in the Chapel of the Islands at the Conejo Mountain Memorial Park, Camarillo, California.
