Kim Graves York, 71, of Burlington, NC passed away at her residence on Wednesday, September 2, 2026.
A native of Alamance County, NC, she was the wife of the late Ernest “Ernie” Blake York and the daughter of Fred Banner Graves and Patricia Terrell Graves, both deceased. She earned her nursing degree and worked many years as a nurse until her retirement at Wake Med Hospital. Kim could always be found working in her yard while mowing and taking care of her flowers. She enjoyed staying busy and was always looking for little jobs around the house and yard. Kim was an active member of Low’s Lutheran Church where she was on the church council, enjoyed setting up for church events, and taking part in the Chrismon class. She loved spending time with her family and looked forward to family get togethers.
Survivors include two daughters, Ashleigh Denny (Chris) and Lindsay York (Corey Hess); son, Charlie York; three grandchildren, Chris Denny, Jr., Lillie Hess, and May York (Zach Coffer); two great grandchildren, Waylon Coffer and Breckin Coffer; and two siblings, Fred Michael Graves (Nancy) and Bonny Graves Whitsett (Dr. Danny Whitsett).
A memorial service will be conducted at Low’s Lutheran Church on Thursday, September 10, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. by Pastor Jenni Zima. A reception will follow the service.
