WILSON, KIMBERLY ANN - age 42, joined her Lord and Savior on May 20, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Kim was a 1984 graduate of Halls High School, and received a Masters Degree in Education from the University of Tennessee. She went to obtain a Divinity Degree from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
Kim was called to serve the Lord in the Pacific Rim with the International Mission Board. A tireless warrior in the fight for women with cancer, she was a generous and loving daughter, sister, aunt, friend and encourager to all who knew and loved her. A member of Salem Baptist Church, Knoxville, Tennessee.
Preceded in death by grandparents: Roger and Betty Smith and Boyd Wilson, Sr. and Edna; uncle, A.G. Pulliam; and cousins, Lauren and Mark.
Survived by: mother, Jean Paylor and husband Richard; father, Boyd Wilson and wife, Debbie; brother, David Wilson and wife Sara; sister, Pam Cummins and husband Kevin; aunts and uncles, Polly Pulliam, and Jim and Sarah Smith; nieces, Heather, Holly, Gina and Kristin; nephews, Brian, Scott, Matthew David, Matthew Richard, Chip and Travis; great nieces, Taylor, Sadie and Lucy; great nephew, Jackson; cousins, Alan, Nancy, Jack, Jill and Joy; extended family, Rick, Marion, Wendy, Kevin and Meghan; Wendy, her "very best friend in the world," and husband, Jack; special friends, Bobbie, Lori, Tracy and Elizabeth.
The family would like to thank the staff of St. Mary's Residential Hospice with a special thanks to Kathy C, Dr. Timothy Panella and Doctors Snyder, Greene, Bell and Lucas and Nurse Ruth.
Family will receive friends Thursday, May 22, 2008 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm (Pink attire appropriate) Salem Baptist Church, Knoxville, TN A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Salem Baptist Church, Knoxville, TN, 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2008 with Dr. Phil Young officiating. Graveside service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery on Friday, May 23, 2008 at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, Kim requested donations be made to Salem Baptist Church, UT Cancer Institute, Susan G. Komen, the International Mission Board and St. Mary's Residential Hospice.
