Donnie Lynn Faulkner, Sr., 70, a beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at the Hospice Home, surrounded by his devoted family.
He was born on November 1, 1955 in Alamance County to the late Elvin James Faulkner and Jean Hall Faulkner, and was the husband to the late Rhonda Rast Faulkner who passed away in 2019.
A proud 1975 graduate of Western Alamance High School, Donnie went on to serve his country as a member of the U.S. Navy. His career was marked by significant contributions at GKN and Tyco Industries, where he was respected by colleagues for his work ethic and his resourcefulness.
Donnie had an inventive spirit and was an inspired inventor whose imagination knew no boundaries. His zest for life was reflected in his countless hobbies and interests. An avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, exploring rivers and lakes while kayaking, surf fishing at the beach and gigging for flounder. He was an adventurist in every sense, often seen repelling from rocks and exploring caves, always in search of his next thrill. Memories of water skiing barefoot and enjoying various water sports at Kerr Lake with family and friends are among the proudest accomplishments of his life, creating cherished moments that will stay alive in the hearts of those who loved him.
He is survived by his loving sons, Donnie Lynn Faulkner, Jr. and Daniel "Danny" Lee Faulkner; his granddaughter that he adored, Kylie Dawn Faulkner; his twin brother, Ron Faulkner and his wife Lynn; sisters, Debra Faulkner Shutt and her husband Bob and Angela Faulkner; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless close friends whom he considered family.
Donnie has now been reunited with his parents, Elvin and Jean Faulkner; his beloved wife of 43 years, Rhonda Lee Rast Faulkner; and a sister, Glenda Faulkner Moss.
As we remember Donnie Lynn Faulkner, Sr., we celebrate a life well-lived, full of adventure, love and treasured memories that will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to share in his journey.
