Obituary Online notes for “Jim” Elvin James FAULKNER
BURLINGTON - Elvin James "Jim" Faulkner, 85, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, October 11, 2014 at his home. 

He was born in Vance County on December 3, 1928 to the late Marvin Edgar Faulkner and Lillian Irene Minor Faulkner Hutson and was the husband of 62 years to the late Emma Jean Hall Faulkner.
Jim was a member of First United Methodist Church of Elon. He graduated from Durham High School and served as a U.S. Army Air Corps Veteran. He retired from Western Electric after 30 years of service, Alamance Community College and was a former captain and paramedic for the Alamance County Rescue where he later retired after 25 faithful years of service. Jim was the past president of the Association of Machine Shop Instructors and was the chairman of the finance committee for the Department of Community Colleges for the state of NC. He was the Marchining Department Head of Alamance Community College and also retired from Liberty Industry Machine Shop in Jacksonville, NC where he was plant manager. Jim was the Program Chairman of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers and a senior member of Chapter 5142 Region 5. He was a senior member of Alamance County Rescue Unit and a former owner and operator of Hutson Mobile Home Park. He was a member of Telephone Pioneer America and a life member of Communication Workers of America Union.

Survivors include his daughters, G. Moss and husband D., D. Shutt and husband B., A. Faulkner and L. De-Marco; sons, D. Faulkner and wife R., R. Faulkner and wife L.; grandchildren, C. Holt and husband B., M. Lassiter and wife M., A. Shutt and wife E., K. Getsinger and husband G., N. Faulkner and wife S., D. Faulkner Jr. and wife C., D. Faulkner, C. Albright, E. Albright, ten great grandchildren and a brother, D. Gray Faulkner and wife B.. He is preceded in death by his wife, parents and two brothers, Edgar Faulkner and Ronald Faulkner.

A service to celebrate his life will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Keith Sexton with the entombment to follow with military honors by the U.S. Air Force at Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Tuesday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home. The family would like for the Alamance County Rescue Seniors and current members to serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family would like to offer their special thanks to the Hospice and private caregivers for their loyal care and support during Jim's illness.
