Randy Parks, 61, of New Paris, passed away after a long illness on Saturday, September 23, 2023 and he is now rocking out with the Lord. He was born November 20, 1961 in Dayton, to the late Patty L. (Horine) and Allen Parks. In addition to his parents, Randy was preceded in death by his faithful companion, Molly Mae.
He is survived by his daughter, Brittany (Ben) Jones; son, Trever Parks; grandchildren, Adessa, Casey, Levi, and Dalton; former spouse, Pauletta Parks; sister, Teresa (Rocky) Hofacker; nephews, Ryan and Jared Hofacker; and many more family and friends.
Randy, with a heart that beat for high school football, college football, and his beloved NFL Chicago Bears, he was the ultimate fan, and his enthusiasm for the game was contagious.
His love for sports didn't stop at football; Randy was an avid angler, finding comfort and joy in fishing, and an enthusiast of knives, always adding to his impressive collection. The rush of attending Tesla, KISS, and Metallica concerts brought immense joy to his soul. He was a true rock 'n' roll fanatic, always at home in the music's electrifying embrace.
In the realm of imagination and strategy, Randy was a master. Boardgames like Dungeons and Dragons, Risk, Pathfinder, and Stratego were his playgrounds, where his mind crafted epic tales and mapped out thrilling adventures. He reveled in the challenge and camaraderie of these games, bringing his friends and family together for hours of laughter and fierce competition.
And then there was his cherished vegetable garden, where he poured his heart into nurturing life and relishing the harvest. The vibrant colors of his garden mirrored the vibrant spirit that he brought to every aspect of his life.
Above all, Randy's true passion lay in the love he shared with his family and grandchildren. Their laughter was his favorite melody, their presence his greatest treasure. He showed what it meant to be a devoted dad, grandpa, and brother.
A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, September 27 from 4PM to 7PM at PREBLE MEMORY GARDENS FUNERAL CENTER, 3377 US Route 35 East, West Alexandria 45381.
