James Edward “Eddie” Hester
BURLINGTON — James Edward “Eddie” Hester of 1271 Willie Pace Road, passed from this life Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after an extended illness.
Mr. Hester was born in Alamance County on September 27, 1946 to Edward Lee Hester (deceased) and Minnie Louise Pace Hester, who survives. He was a graduate of Eastern Alamance High School. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and a local farmer.
Survivors, in addition to his mother are his wife, Ann Lewis Hester; daughters Jandy H. Andrews (Jody) and Holly E. Hester (Phillip); grandchildren, Jocelyn E. Andrews, Kody T. Leigh, and Jillian M. Andrews; sister, Nancy H. Carden (Kenny) and brother, Mark H. Hester (Kay); stepchildren, Eric Lewis and Angela Galloway; six stepgrandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service in honor of Mr. Hester will be held at Union Ridge Church, Sunday, July 18, 2010. Service will be performed by the Rev. Dan Ficklin at 4 p.m. in the sanctuary. There will not be a visitation, but family members will be in the church fellowship hall following the ceremony.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Alamance Regional Cancer Center, Patient Care Fund, 1236 Huffman Mill Road, Suite 120, Attn.: Shelia Walker, Burlington, N.C. 27215 or to Union Ridge Church Activity Center, 115 Altamahaw-Union Ridge Church Road, Burlington, N.C. 27217.
The family would also like to extend their appreciation to those staff at ARMC for the care given to Mr. Hester during his stay there.
