Samuel Gordon Clapp


Mr. Samuel Gordon Clapp, 62, of Whitsett passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Moses Cone Hospital after a brief illness.

A native of Guilford County, he was the husband of the late Susan Coble Clapp and the son of Gordon and Ruth Wagoner Clapp, both deceased. He was a farmer/mechanic and attended Pleasant Garden Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Laura Clapp Ransom and husband Michael of Fairmont, WV; a son, Adam Lee Clapp of Whitsett; a granddaughter, Ava Susan Ransom of Fairmont, WV; a sister, Linda Greeson and husband Dugan of Burlington; and girlfriend, Donna Sharrie of Climax.

The family will receive friends at Brick Reformed Church on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at 1:30 pm.

The funeral service will follow at 3 pm by the Rev. Mike Barrett and the Rev. Geoff LaLone. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Brick Reformed Church Memorial Fund, 3699 Brick Church Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
