Mrs. Susan Coble Clapp, beloved wife, mother and best friend, age 52, of 6568 Foster Road, Whitsett died at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill on Monday, July 12, 2010 at 6:03 p.m.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of Sam Clapp, who survives, and the daughter of Vernon Coble, who survives, and the late Doris Kernodle Coble. She was a farmer and homemaker and a member of Brick Reformed United Church of Christ.
In addition to her husband, Sam, of the home and father, Vernon, of Snow Camp, survivors include a daughter, Laura Clapp Ransom and husband Michael, of Athens, Ohio; a son, Adam Lee Clapp of the home; a sister, Joyce Byrd of Snow Camp; and a brother, Tommy Coble of Liberty.
The funeral service will be conducted at Brick Reformed United Church of Christ on Friday, July 16, 2010 at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Kristin Gerner Vaughn and the Rev. Mike Wilburn. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Thursday from 6 until 8 p.m. At other times they will be at the residence.
