Kestle Victor Clapp
   ELON — Kestle Victor Clapp, 88, of 7175 Sockwell Road, passed away Saturday, January 21, 2012, at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro.

   A native of Guilford County, he was married to the late Geneva Lowe Clapp for 65 years and was the son of the late Floyd and Myrtle Smith Clapp. Mr. Clapp was a lifelong member of Apple’sChapelChristian Church and a lifelong farmer who loved growing tobacco, watermelons, tomatoes and raising livestock. He was a full fashion knitter for 60 years at Holt Hosiery and Kayser Roth.

   He was a great Daddy and Paw to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved bragging on his babies and not a day went by that he didn’t ask about his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

   Survivors include his son, Gary Clapp and wife, Mary, of Gibsonville; daughter Angie Walker and husband, Ken, of Elon; grandchildren, Jennifer Baker, Jessica Seawell and husband Steve, Jordan Walker and wife, Amanda, and Katie Walker; great-grandchildren, Fayth Seawell, Lydia Walker, Haley and Shelby Baker; brother, Floyd Clapp Jr. of Whitsett; sisters, Lucy Wagoner, Agnes Fogleman, Sue Clubb, all of Burlington. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, brothers, Luke Clapp, Ferry Clapp, Raymond and Buddy Clapp; sisters, Annie Allen, Mabel Wagoner and Clara Chrisco.

   Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at Apple’s Chapel Christian Church by the Rev. C. Allen Myers, III. Interment will follow in Apple’s Chapel Church Cemetery. Mr. Clapp will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory until being taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the funeral service. The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and at the residence at other times.

   Memorials may be made to Apple’s Chapel Christian Church, Cemetery Fund; 7345 North Hwy 61, Gibsonville, NC 27249.
