Floyd E. Clapp
Floyd E. Clapp, 82, of Rt. 1, Burlington died at his home Tuesday
afternoon at 2:40 o'clock after four months of critical illness.
A native of Guilford County, he was the son of the late Dexter Butler
and Delethan Ann Black Clapp. He was a member of Brick United Church of
Christ and the husband of Mrs. Myrtle Smith Clapp, who survives.
Survivors, other than his wife, include six daughters, Mrs. Clara
Chriscoe and Mrs. Lucy Wagoner, both of Rt. 1, Burlington; Mrs. Myrtle
Wagoner of Rt. 3, Elon College, Mrs. Annie Allen of Route 4, Mebane,
Mrs. Sue Clubb of Gibsonville and Mrs. Agnes Fogleman of Alamance; five
sons, Buddy Clapp and Floyd Clapp, both of Rt. 1, Burlington, Luke Clapp
and Ferry Clapp, both of Rt. 1, Whitsett, and Kestle Clapp of Rt. 1,
Elon College; one sister, Mrs. Hattie Friddle of Rt. 1, Whitsett; two
brothers, Grady Clapp and Victor Clapp, both of Rt. 1, Whitsett; 44
grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Final rites will be held at Brick United Church of Christ Thursday
afternoon at 3 o'clock. The Rev. J. L. Evans, pastor, will officiate.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The body will remain at Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington until
taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service.
The Family will receive friends at the mortuary tonight from 7 to 9 o'clock.
