Mrs. Carolyn Hightower
MEBANE — Mrs. Carolyn Thomas Hightower, 64, of 4415 White Level Road, died at 2:45 a.m. Friday, April 30, 1999,
at Alamance Regional Medical Center after a sudden illness.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of Mr. Bobby Charles Hightower, who survives, and the son of Mrs.
Susie Ezzell Thomas, who survives, and the late Mr. Carson Durant Thomas. She was retired from AT&T — Guilford
Center. She was a member of Mebane United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women Society. She was a
former member of the Eastern Star.
Survivors other than her husband of the home and mother of Mebane include a daughter, Mrs. Buddy (Tammy) Edens of
Mebane; a brother, Mr. Cliff Thomas of Mebane; three sisters, Mrs. Dan (Claudette) Ross and Mrs. Jim (Charlotte)
Trollinger, both of Burlington, and Mrs. Akers (Cathy) Steele of Sandy Ridge.
She was preceded in death by a son, Mr. Terrone Hightower; four brothers; and a sister.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at Mebane United Methodist Church by the Rev. Al Trotter, pastor. Burial
will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
The family will be at McClure Funeral Home in Mebane from 7 to 9 this evening, and at other times at the home.
