MEBANE — Bobby Charles Hightower, 83, died Friday, April 15, 2016, at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Alamance County, a retired contractor, a member of Mebane United Methodist Church and a U.S. Army medic during the Korean Conflict.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Correnna Jobe Hightower; son, Charles Terrone Hightower; sister, Florence Abernathy; and brother, Billy Hightower.
He is survived by his daughter, Tammy Edens and husband Buddy of Mebane; brother, Jim Hightower of Greenville, MS; and sister, Nell Copley of Richmond, VA.
A service to celebrate his life will be conducted at 2 p.m.
Monday, April 18, 2016, in the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Mebane by the Rev. Johnny Wright. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 until 2 p.m. Monday before the service.
Memorials may be made to the Mebane United Methodist Church, 200 South 4th Street, Mebane, NC 27302.
