Byron Eugene Gross
   ELON, N.C. — Byron Eugene Gross, age 83, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013 at his home. He was a native of York, Pennsylvania and the husbandof50yearstothelate Pauline Sutton Gross. Byron lived in Springfield, Virginia for over 30 years with his wife wheretheyraisedtheirfamily.

   Byron worked for Mutual Broadcasting System and later retired from Voice of America. He was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church where he served as treasurer of the Methodist Men for many years. Byron wasaU.S.Armyveteranofthe Korean Conflict and very active in the Senior Advantage Walkers. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and brother.

   Survivors include his daughter, Stacey Gross Ragan and her husband, Darrell of Gibsonville; sisters, Marion Belgya of New Philadelphia, Ohio and Kathryn Merbach of Dennison, Ohio and a brother, Roger Gross of Chester, Virginia.

   He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, Earl Weigle and Anna Lecrone Gross.

   A service to celebrate his life will be held on 11 a.m. Saturday at Fairview United Methodist Church by the Rev. S. Mark Clark. The burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends

   from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory.

Byron Eugene Gross, age 83, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at his home. He was a native of York, Pennsylvania and the husband of 50 years to the late Pauline Sutton Gross. Byron lived in Springfield, Virginia for over 30 years with his wife where they raised their family.
Byron worked for Mutual Broadcasting System and later retired from Voice of America. He was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church where he served as treasurer of the Methodist Men for many years. Byron was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and very active in the Senior Advantage Walkers. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and brother.
