Mrs. Jennie H. Ingle
WHITSETT — Mrs. Jennie M. Hoffman Ingle, 95, of 705 N.C. 61 South, died at 8:22 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, 1999, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro after a critical illness of 10 days.
A native of Guilford County, she was the wife of the late Mr. Carl Brower Ingle and the daughter of Mr. Myron Allen Hoffman and Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Woodard Hoffman, both deceased. She was a homemaker and a 1923 graduate of Whitsett Institute. She was a member of Springwood Presbyterian Church in Whitsett for 72 years. She had served in many capacities in her church and community. She served as an elder at Springwood Church and as president, secretary and treasurer of the Presbyterian Women, Ladies Circle, Whitsett Community Club and treasurer of the Cemetery Fund. She was a registrar for the Whitsett Precinct.
Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Charles (Edna) Blythe and Mrs. Bruce (Mary Frances) Andrews, both of Whitsett, Mrs. Dean (Betty) Andrews of Concord, Mrs. Ronald (Ann) Clark of Waldorf, Md., and Mrs. Donald (Sue) Allen of Maulding, S.C.; four sons, Mr. J.B. Ingle and Mr. Jerry Alan Ingle, both of Whitsett, Mr. Joseph Wayne Ingle of Simpsonville, S.C., and Mr. Franklin Ray “Tony” Ingle of Greensboro; two sisters, Mrs. Grace Clapp and Mrs. Marion York, both of Whitsett; 25 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; five great-stepgrandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Mr. Dan Allen Ingle; two brothers, Mr. T. J. Hoffman and Mr. Harry L. Hoffman; a sister, Mrs. Elsie Slade; and a grandchild.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Springwood Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Jonathan Freeman and the Rev. Cecil Callis.
The family will be at Springwood Presbyterian Church from 6 to 8 this evening, and at other times at the home.
Memorials may be made to the Memorial Room at Springwood Presbyterian Church.
