Julius Brower "Cotton" Ingle


    BURLINGTON — Mr. Julius Brower "Cotton" Ingle, 82, of 2229 Delaney Drive, Burlington, died at his residence on Sunday, May 17, 2009 at 11:35 p.m.
    A native of Guilford County, he was the husband of Arlene Tickle Ingle, who survives and the son of Carl Brower Ingle and Jennie Hoffman Ingle, both deceased. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving during World War II in the Pacific Theatre of Operations. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Disabled American Veterans. He was a retired home builder and developer and a former member of the Alamance County Home Builders Association. Mr. Ingle served on the Whitsett Town Board for 11 years and was a former member of the Gibsonville Merchants Association. He enjoyed spending his time with his grandchildren and his cat, Charcoal. He enjoyed following Nascar, Duke football and Duke basketball. He was a member of the Iron Dukes. Mr. Ingle was a member of Springwood Presbyterian Church where he served on the Building and Grounds Committee.
    In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include two daughters, Cynthia Ingle Farmer and husband Kim, of Gibsonville and Terri Ingle Wall of Elon; one stepson, D. C. Brooks and wife Billie, of Greensboro; four sisters, Edna Blythe and Mary Andrews, both of Whitsett, Betty Andrews of Concord and Ann Clark of Chesapeake,
Va.; three brothers, Joe Ingle of Simpsonville,
S.C., Jerry Ingle of Burlington and Tony Ingle of Greensboro; and three grandchildren, Eva Noel Farmer, Candice Wall and Derek Brooks.
    He was preceded in death by a brother, Dan Allen Ingle and a sister, Sue Ingle Allen.
    The funeral service will be conducted at Springwood Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Dale Walker. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
    The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Tuesday from 6 until 8 p.m. At other times they will be at the residence.
    Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, N.C. 27215 or to Springwood Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 5, Whitsett, N.C. 27377.
