Patsy Anne Barber Finley
CEDAR GROVE – Mrs. Patsy Anne Barber Finley, died on Wednesday, January 4, 2017, at her home.
A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of the late Mr. Thomas DeWitt Barber and the late Mrs. Mable Blanchard Barber of Elon and was the widow of Mr. William L. “Bill” Finley.
Mrs. Finley was an Elder at Eno Presbyterian Church, Past Matron of Hillsborough Chapter 180 (now Southgate 177) Order of the Eastern Star and member of Schley American Legion Auxiliary 452.
She was a graduate of Elon High School and was a retiree of Western Electric, Burlington.
She is survived by her devoted son and daughterin-law; Stephen Finley and Suzanne Johnson Finley with whom she made her home and two precious granddaughters, Gracie Ann Finley and Kellie Elizabeth Finley; extended family, two caring sons, William Johnson “Bill” Finley (Nancy) of Cedar Grove and Mark Thomas Finley of Hendersonville and daughter-in-law, Doris W. Finley of Hillsborough.
She is also survived by sister-in-law Lois H. Barber of Elon, niece, Sabrah B. Hardin (Billy) of Greensboro; and nephews, Thomas Lee Barber of Gastoia and Tony Vincent Reece (Cindy) and Dillon Reece of Elon, and two very special friends, Calvin and Elaine Johnson of Hillsborough.
She is predeceased by brothers, Dewey Riley “Mike” Barber and William Lawrence “Bill” Barber both of Elon, extended family, sons, David Wayne Finley and John Roger Finley; sister-in-law, Mildred C. Finley, brothers-in-law, Thomas Baines Finley (Esther) formally of Raleigh and John Barker “Jack” Finley.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. in Eno Presbyterian Church on Sunday, January 8, 2017 with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be in the church from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.
The services will be conducted by Rev. Christopher Grill of Eno Presbyterian Church, Dr. Robert Bresidine of Hillsborough Presbyterian Church, and Elder Nancy Oliver of Eno Presbyterian Church.
