Mrs. Minnie Mozelle Summers Tickle

GIBSONVILLE — Mrs. Minnie Mozelle Summers Tickle, 91, of 1215 Frank Road, died Friday, June 8, 2001, at her home after a short illness.

A native of Guilford County, she was the wife of Mr. Henry Monroe Tickle, who survives. They recently celebrated 66 years of marriage. She was the daughter of Lacy Summers and Eugenia Brown Summers, both deceased.

She was employed for 19 years with McEwen Hosiery Mills. She was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church where she was a former Sunday school teacher and was involved for many years with the Presbyterian Women. She and her husband worked for more than 20 years for Guilford County as tax listers.

Survivors other than her husband of the home include two daughters, Mrs. Eva (Sonny) Allen of Gibsonville and Mrs. Harriet (Harden) Phipps of Julian; three sons, Daniel Monroe (Gail) Tickle of Carrboro, and Lacy Quint (Carolyn) Tickle and William Henry (Shirley) Tickle, both of Gibsonville; a sister, Mrs. Nellie (Fred) Nix of Gibsonville; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, W.T. Summers and John Summers; and four sisters, Mabel Butler, Mary Trogdon, Florene Grayson and Rosa Ann Summers.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at Bethel Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Ray Mims, pastor. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home from 6 to 8 this evening, and at other times at the home.
