Mr. Floyd Allen Perkins

BURLINGTON — Mr. Floyd Allen Perkins, 73, of 3317 Altamahaw-Union Ridge Road, died Sunday, Nov. 12, 2000, at his home, after a year of failing health.

A native of Rockingham County, he was the wife of Mrs. Barbara Browning Perkins, who survives, and the son of the late Mr. James William Perkins and Mrs. Sarah Ann Smithey Perkins, who survives.

He was employed for 41 years with Burlington Industries and Kayser-Roth Corp. and was a farmer in the Altamahaw community all his life. He was a member of Bethlehem Christian Church and the Ever Ready Sunday School Class.

Survivors other than his wife of the home and mother include three sons, Mr. Floyd Allen Perkins Jr. and Mr. Paul Anthony Perkins, both of Burlington, and Mr. Ricky Dean Perkins of Whitsett; three sisters, Mrs. Sadie Lynch of Burlington, Mrs. Rachel Lewis of Greensboro and Mrs. Nancy Odell of Haw River; four brothers, Mr. James Perkins of Reidsville, Mr. Ralph Perkins of Mebane, Mr. Roy Perkins of Graham and Mr. J.C. Perkins of Burlington; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Mr. Roger Perkins; and a brother, Mr. Raymond Perkins.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bethlehem Christian Church by the Rev. Dave Gilbert.

The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will be at Bethlehem Christian Church Cemetery.

The family will be at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory from 6 to 8 p.m. this evening, and at other times at the home.
