Mrs. Ruth Virginia Conner Reaves
ROXBORO — Mrs. Ruth Virginia Conner Reaves, 78, of 2549 Chub Lake Road, Roxboro, died Friday evening May 9, 2002 in Roxboro Nursing Center following an extended illness.
Mrs. Reaves was a native of Halifax County, Va., daughter of the late Wardell Linney and Bertha Briggs Conner. She was a retired employee of Carolina Parachute and member of Theresa Baptist Church.
Surviving is her husband, Mr. Ernest Thomas Reaves of the home; 3 daughters, Mrs. Ann R. Moor and Ms. Lillian M. Reaves, both of Roxboro, and Mrs. Stella R. Strouth of Burlington; 3 sons, Mr. Stonie T. Reaves and Mr. Willie R. Reaves, both of Burlington, and Mr. Steve R. Reaves of Roxboro; 2 sisters, Mrs. Ella C. Neil of Roxboro and Mrs. Patty C. Bowen of Burlington; 4 brothers, Mr. Bobby Conner and Mr. Ernest Conner, both of Burlington, Mr. Joe Conner of Roxboro, and Mr. Wade Conner of South Carolina; 20 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Reaves was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Mr. Henry Conner and Mr. Paul Conner.
Funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m.. Monday in Strickland Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Frankie Reaves and Rev. Herbert Brown. Interment will follow in Theresa Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be grandsons Troy R. Reaves, Tony L.R. Strouth, Tommy R. George, Randy D. Reaves, Steven D. Reaves, and Todd Simpson.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Strickland Funeral Home and other times at the home, 2547 Chub Lake Road, Roxboro, N.C. 27573. Arrangements are by Strickland Funeral Home, 1314 N. Main St., Roxboro, N.C. 27573.
