Roger Wayne Crouse


    BURLINGTON — Roger Wayne Crouse, 61, went home to be with the Lord on January 29, 2010 at the Hospice Home in Burlington after several years of failing health.

    Wayne was born August 16, 1948 in Alamance County to the late Roy Banks and Violet Walker Crouse.

He was a retired employee of the North Carolina State School System and attended Faith Bible Chapel. Wayne was a U.S. Navy veteran and served in the Vietnam War.

    Survivors include his brother, Kenneth “Ken” Crouse and wife Gay of Burlington; sister, Jean Lemons and husband the Rev. Jack Lemons of McLeansville; niece, Christie Williamson and husband Brian; nephews, Allen Crouse, Kenneth Crouse Jr. and wife Sandra, John Lemons and wife Christine; great-nieces, Rosemary Crouse, Lizzy Lemons, and Jordan Williamson; great-nephews, Jonah Crouse, AdamWilliamson and Andrew Lemons; many special cousins and his cousin that was like a brother, Mike Greene and wife Jane; and aunts, Alma Mae Wright, Louise Crouse and Geraldine Shores.

    He was preceded in death by his parents.

    The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 3, 2010, at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Jack Lemons, the Rev. Mark Robertson, and Mike Greene.

Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from12:30 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home and at other times at the brother’s residence, 254 Westview Drive, Burlington, N.C. 27217.
    The family would like to offer special thanks to the many relatives and friends who supported and cared for him. Also, special thanks to the caregivers at Hospice Home, the Alamance Regional Oncology Department, Rehabilitation and Health Care Center of Alamance, Springview Assisted Living, and Britthaven of Guilford.
    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, N.C. 27215 or the church or charity of your choice.
