Mr. Roy Banks Crouse
BURLINGTON — Mr. Roy Banks Crouse, 82, of 237 Westview Drive, died Thursday,
May 4, 2000, at his home.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Mrs. Violet Lee Walker Crouse, who
survives, and the son of Mr. Lester Crouse and Mrs. Lelia Gerringer Crouse, both
deceased. He was retired from Burlington Industries, Williamsburg Plant after 30 years.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Glen Raven Baptist
Church.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include a daughter, Mrs. Jean Lemmons of
McLeansville; two sons, Mr. Roger Wayne Crouse and Mr. Kenneth Douglas Crouse,
both of Burlington; two sisters, Mrs. Alma Mae Wright and Mrs. Ilene Baker, both of
Burlington; two brothers, Mr. Clair Crouse of Graham and Mr. Ray Crouse of Burlington;
four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Mrs. Fannie Gerringer Crouse; and a brother,
Mr. Uby Crouse.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at Glen Raven Baptist Church by the Rev.
Bobby Fann, pastor, the Rev. Jack Lemmons, pastor of McLeansville Baptist Church, and
the Rev. C. Max Allman, pastor of Peoples Memorial Christian Church. The body will be
placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial
Park.
The family will be at Lowe Funeral Home from 6 to 8 this evening, and at other times at
the home.
