Mrs. Lorene S. Barber
GIBSONVILLE — Mrs. Lorene S. Barber, 65, of 6500 Osceola-Ossipee Road, died Thursday, June 15, 2000, at the Hospice Home after nine months of failing
health, one month critical.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of Mr. Melvin “Bud” Barber, who survives, and the daughter of Mr. Ralph Staley Sutton, who survives, and the late Mrs. Claudie Lorene Scott Sutton. She was formerly employed with Holt Hosiery and was a member of Bethlehem Christian Church.
Survivors other than her husband and father include two daughters, Mrs. Angela Brame of Browns Summit and Mrs. Deborah Satterfield of Elon College; a sister, Mrs. Geraldine Brown of Gibsonville; two brothers, Mr. Staley “Bud” Sutton of Gibsonville and Mr. Donald Sutton of Rock Hill, S.C.; and three grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday at Bethlehem Christian Church by the Rev. Dave Gilbert, pastor, the Rev. C. Allen Myers III of Apple’s Chapel Christian Church and the Rev. David Jackson of Bethel Baptist Church. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will be in Lakeview Memorial Park in Greensboro.
The family will be at Lowe Funeral Home from 7 to 9 this evening and at other times at the home.
