Douglas “Doug” Satterfield
   ELON — Douglas “Doug” Satterfield, 51, of Elon, passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2012.

   He was born in Alamance County to the late William Carter Satterfield and Jo Ann Summers Satterfield, who survives. He was married for 26 years to Deborah “Debbie” Barber Satterfield. Doug was employed by NAA and he loved fishing. Doug was a friend to many and had decided to donate his tissue and organs so that others may benefit.

   He is survived by his wife, Debbie and son, Daniel of the home; his mother, Jo Ann Satterfield of Elon; sister, Amy (Kenny) Nance of Elon; brother, Eddie Dean (Robin) Satterfield of Summerfield; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Cheryl Ann Satterfield.

   The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Rick Chandler and the Rev. Dave Gilbert with entombment to follow at Lakeview Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Sunday evening at the funeral home and other times at the residence.

   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 111-D Pomona Drive, Greensboro, NC 27407.
