Lonzie  Lovette Kernodle 


    BURLINGTON — Lonzie  Lovette Kernodle , age 93, of 3603 Danieley Water Wheel Road, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 22, 2006 at the Hospice Home.

A native of Alamance County, he was the son of the late Joseph Anderson and Eliza Jane Faucette Kernodle .

    Lonzie  retired from Kayser Roth Hosiery, was a lifetime member of Bethel United Methodist Church, and was a member of the Joy Sunday School Class.

    Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Howard Wayne and Vivian Kernodle ; grandchildren, Kenneth Wayne Kernodle , Kellie Whitaker, and Eric Kernodle ; great-grandchildren, James Whitaker, Crystal Page, Olivia LoGuidice and Owen Dean Kernodle ; and a sister, Ruby Hunter of Graham.

    He was preceded in death by his wife, Lula Mae Simpson Kernodle ; a son, Marvin Dean Kernodle ; parents; two sisters, Eva Allison and Elizabeth Kernodle ; and a brother, Ervin Kernodle .

    The funeral service will be conducted on Monday, September 25, 2006 at 2 p.m. at Bethel United Methodist Church by the Rev. Renee Burnette. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

    The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the son’s home, 1328 Graham Street, Burlington, N.C. 27217.

    The family would like to thank the staff and nurses of the Hospice Home for their compassion and care for Lonzie  and the family.

    Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, N.C. 27217.
