Mrs. Lula Mae Simpson Kernodle 
    BURLINGTON — Mrs. Lula Mae Simpson Kernodle , age 87, of 3603 Danieley Water Wheel Road, died Sunday, March 20, 2005, at White Oak Manor.
    A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of Lonzie L. Kernodle , who survives, and the daughter of the late Euliss Ervin and Sadie Ross Simpson . She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and the Joy Sunday school class.
    Survivors include her husband, Lonzie L. Kernodle  of the home; a son, Howard Wayne Kernodle  of Burlington; three grandchildren, Kenneth Wayne Kernodle , Kellie Whitaker and Eric Kernodle ; two great-grandchildren, James Whitaker and Crystal Whitaker; brother, Carl Simpson  of Burlington; and sister, Mrs. Pansy Mansfield of Burlington. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Marvin Dean Kernodle ; and brother, Lester Simpson .
    Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2005, at the Bethel United Methodist Church by the Rev. Renee Burnette, pastor. Interment will follow in the Bethel Church cemetery. Mrs. Kernodle  will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory until being taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the funeral service.
