Mr. Larry Summers
HAW RIVER — Mr. Larry “Buddy” Summers, 58, of 128 Second St., died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000, at home after 17 months of failing health, two days critical.
A native of Guilford County, he was the husband of Mrs. Shirley Shepherd Summers, who survives, and the son of the late Mr. Albert Summers and Mrs. Nita Underwood Summers, who survives.
He worked as a mechanic at Whitfield’s Exxon and then for Byrd’s Tractor and Equipment Company. He was a participant at Ace Speedway and was a member of Landmark Baptist Church.
Survivors other than his wife of the home and mother of Burlington include two daughters, Mrs. Renee S. Glosson and Mrs. Gena S. Bradsher, both of Graham; four sisters, Mrs. Nancy Shepherd of Gibsonville and Mrs. Betty Williams, Mrs. Patricia Hill and Mrs. Pam Atkinson, all of Burlington; and four grandchildren.
The graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Alamance Memorial Park by the Rev. Rainey Qualls, pastor of Landmark Baptist Church.
The family will be at Lowe Funeral Home in Burlington from 5 to 7 this evening and at other times at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Renee Glosson, 514 Thompson Road, Graham.
