Mr. Edward Chester Blanchard Jr.
BURLINGTON — Mr. Edward Chester “Chet” Blanchard Jr., 78, of 2001 S. Mebane St., died at 3:45 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 19, 2000, at his home.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Mrs. Mildred Blanche Hilliard Blanchard, who survives, and the son of Mr. Edward Chester Blanchard Sr. and Mrs. Frankie Patterson Blanchard, both deceased. He was retired from Associated Transport and was a member of St. John’s New Mission United Church of Christ. He was a member of the Burlington Moose Lodge.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include two daughter, Mrs. Cherry Blanchard Wrenn of Burlington and Mrs. Linda Blanchard Taylor of Norfolk, Va.; a sister, Mrs. Bessie “Tom” Blanchard Moore of Burlington; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Mrs. Mabel B. Barber, Mrs. Lillian B. Burke and Mrs. Daisy B. Alexander and three brothers, Mr. Clarence C. Blanchard, Mr. Howard E. Blanchard and Mr. John Kenneth “Skinny” Blanchard.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will be at Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 6 to 8 this evening.
