Roy G. Atkins, 75, of 2603 East Forty-seventh Terrace, North, died yesterday at the home.
He was born in Parkville and lived all his life in Platte and Clay Counties. Mr. Atkins was a plumbing contractor and a member of the North Kansas City First Christian Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Bertha Hart Atkins of the home; a daughter, Mrs. R. B. Ramey, Plateau Park, Platte County; a son, Roy Harte Atkins, Liberty; a brother, Walter W. Atkins, 810 Barnett, Kansas City, Kansas; a sister, Mrs. Edna Lackey, South Gate, Calif., and seven grandchildren.
Services at 10:30 o'clock Friday at the North Kansas City First Christian Church; burial in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. (Obituary published in the Kansas City Star)
Roy G. Atkins married Bertha Margaret Hart on 6 Dec 1917 in Liberty, Clay County, MO. He was a plumber as early as 1910, and operated plumbing shops in Liberty, North Kansas City, and Kansas City. He never retired, and died following his third heart attack.
Roy and Bertha Atkins are my maternal grandparents.
