Sarah Elise Ramey, 85, beloved wife of Richard Basil Ramey, passed away December 21, 2007.
Elise was born near Prathersville, MO, on March 4, 1922 to Roy Gaussoin and Bertha Margaret (Hart) Atkins.
She was a lifelong resident of Clay and Platte Counties, and was a descendant of some of Clay's earliest families.
She was married November 8, 1941.
Elise was a homemaker, bookkeeper for her husband's company R. B. Ramey Plumbing Company, and fully supported and served her family in school, church, Scouts, and other activities.
Elsie was a member of First Christian Church of North Kansas City.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Dick; sons Roy, wife Nancy, Forest, VA; Steven, wife Marie, Kansas City, William, North Kansas City; and daughter Suzanne Elise Holley, husband Chris, Centreville, VA; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Mercier, Michael Ramey; Anna, Benjamin, and Sara Ramey; Kathryn, John, and Rebecca Holley; five great-grandchildren; and nephews John and Tom Atkins and niece Susan Johnson.
Elise was preceded in death by her only sibling, Roy Hart Atkins, in 1987. Burial will be at Mt. Moriah Terrace Park Cemetery. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 24, at Mt. Moriah Terrace Park Funeral Home, with visitation 10-10:30 am. (arr. Mt. Moriah Terrace Park Funeral Home 816-734-5500).
