BURLINGTON — John Wayne Foster , age 66, of 3769 Burch Bridge Rd., passed away Saturday May 26, 2007, at Duke Medical Center, Durham.
A native of Guilford County, he was the husband of Kay Leath Foster and son of the late Sterling Montgomery and Nellie Mae Alcon Foster . Mr. Foster was retired from Glen Raven Mills and was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and the Bethel Men’s Club.
Survivors include his wife, Kay Leath Foster of the home; son, Johnny Foster and wife Sonja of Hickory; grandchildren, Abby Foster and Bayleigh Foster of Hickory; brothers, Edward Foster and wife Peggy of Reidsville and Jim Foster and wife Janet of Burlington. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Margaret Clapp.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday May 29, 2007, at Bethel United Methodist Church by the Rev. Renee Burnette and the Rev. Darrell Massey. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. Mr. Foster will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory until being taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the funeral service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 PM Monday and at other times at the residence.
