Mrs. Mary Clapp Leonard Boggs


    GRAHAM — Mrs. Mary Clapp Leonard Boggs, 97, of Burlington Manor and formerly of Rogers Road, Graham, died at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008, at the Hospice Home following three months failing health.
    A native of Alamance County, she was wife of the late L.A. "Fate" Leonard and the late Don E. Boggs Sr., and daughter of the late Daniel Monroe Clapp and Mary Bell Barbee Clapp. She was a retired employee with Tower Hosiery, a member of Glen Hope Baptist Church and the Victory Bible Class.
    Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Pam Braxton and husband, Billy, of Graham and Mrs. Mary Frances Wilkerson of Burlington; a son, Mr. Harrell D. Leonard and wife, Nancy, of Burlington; a son-in-law, Mr. Royce Williams of Graham; eleven grandchildren; 20 greatgrandchildren; and 21 greatgreat-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Charlotte Williams; a granddaughter, Mrs. Vickie L. Teague; four sisters, Mrs. Roberta Thompson, Mrs. Vita Brannock, Mrs. Vivian Ray and Mrs. Mabel Keck; and three brothers, Mr. Dan Clapp, Mr. Burney Clapp and Mr. Benny Clapp.
    Services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 30, at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Graham with the Rev. Larry Redding and the Rev. Jim Wrenn officiating. Burial will follow in Graham Memorial Park.
    The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham from 1 to 2 p.m., prior to the service and other times at the residence of Pam & Billy Braxton, 2264 Sunberry Drive, Graham.
    She was a loving mother, grandmother and a wonderful cook. The family would like to extend their appreciation to all Mary’s caregivers at Hospice. They have gone beyond the call of duty to make her comfortable during her illness. She had a strong will to live and a sense of humor that carried her through the day and that will be missed dearly.
