BROWNS SUMMIT — Mr. Michael "Mike" Duane Small, 50, of Browns Summit, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Sept 30, 2007, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007, at Forbis & Dick North Elm Street Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mike was born September 3, 1957, in Alamance County, to James M. and Frances W. Small. He was a longtime employee with the N.C. D.O.T. and also worked part time with the Greensboro Coliseum. Mike had lived here in Guilford County for the last 14 years and was of the Baptist faith. He also had a soft spot in his heart for God’s small furry creatures which he loved and cared for.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis J. Small of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Chastity Dawn and Dax Gerringer of Browns Summit; mother, Mrs. Frances Small of Graham; sisters and brothersin-law, Mary and Cliff Garner of Gibsonville, Janna and Kenny Davis of Mebane; brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Sheri Small of Asheboro and brother, Chris Small of Graham; four nieces; and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, James M. Small.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Funeral Home.
Flowers are welcome but memorials may be sent to Hospice at Greensboro, 2500 Summit Ave. Greensboro, N.C. 27405.
