Thomas “Tommy” Wayne Mooneyham
 

 
 ELON — Thomas “Tommy” Wayne Mooneyham, 62, of 2060 Center Crest Drive, Elon, died at his residence on Saturday, March 28, 2015 after two years of failing health.
 
 A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Cathy Salmons Mooneyham, who survives, and the son of Wayne Frederick Mooneyham and Christine Oakley Mooneyham, both deceased. Tommy was a member of the United States Army National Guard for six years. He retired from Wayne Mooneyham Heating and Cooling. Tommy attended Altamahaw Baptist Church. He was a member of the Men’s Golf Association of Indian Valley. Tommy enjoyed fishing, golfing, and spending time with his grandsons. He was an avid Duke Basketball fan.
 
 In addition to his wife of the home, he is survived by three children, Heather Mooneyham Denny and husband Mike of Edenton, NC, Melissa Mooneyham of Elon and Nick Mooneyham and special friend Karen Smith of Gibsonville; four grandchildren, Landon, William, Owen and Ryan Denny; a brother, Jeff Mooneyham and wife Linda of Elon; two sisters, Anna Teague and husband Randy of Cameron, NC and Tina Cheek and husband Terry of Burlington; and nieces and nephews, Matthew Mooneyham of Elon, Michael Teague of Homestead, FL, David Teague of Germany
 
and Christopher Teague of Cameron, NC, Tanner Cheekand wife Mattie of California and Shannon Cheek of Wilmington.
 
 In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ernest and Rosa Mooneyham and Isaac and Ethel Oakley.
 
 A memorial service will be held at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at 1:00 PM by Dr. Steve Tucker and Pastor Mike Denny. The family will receive friends following the memorial service at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home in Burlington. At other times the family will be at the residence.
 
 Memorials may be made to Altamahaw Baptist Church Building Fund, 3445 Altamahaw Church Street, Elon, NC 27244.
