Frances Allison Massey
Mrs. Frances Allison Massey, 87, of Burlington passed away at Liberty Commons on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at 5:30 a.m.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Dewey Faucette Massey and the daughter of Jimmy Allison and Iola Simmons Allison, both deceased. Mrs. Massey was of the Baptist Faith.
She is survived by two daughters, Karen Massey Hargrove of Graham and Sherry Massey Durham (Frankie) of Burlington; son, Gary F. Massey (Mary) of Burlington; seven grandchildren, Kimberly Price (Alan), Kristy Mabe (Joey), Jason Massey, Jeremy Massey (Laina), Dustin Durham (Mary), Dale Hargrove and Chuck Seay; nine great grandchildren; two sisters, Jean Marley of Burlington and Linda Robertson (Leonard) of Mebane; and brother, James Allison (Pat) of Gibsonville.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Massey was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth Chattin and Geraldine Murdock; brother, Harold Allison; step-brother, Wallace Allison; and stepmother, Martha Allison.
A funeral service will be conducted at the Long’s Chapel Christian Church on Friday, March 30, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. by Rev. R. J. Zupancich. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham on Thursday, March 29, 2018 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Other times they will be at Mrs. Massey’s residence.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215, Long’s Chapel Christian Church, Cemetery Fund, 2364 N NC Hwy. 49, Burlington, NC 27217 or to donor’s choice.
The family of Mrs. Massey would like to extend a special thanks to her caregiver, Crystal and the staff of Liberty Commons, and to the Hospice Team, especially Kay, Stacey and Casey.
