GRAHAM — William Ronald McCarter, 75, of Graham, died Friday, July 13, 2012, at his home.
Mr. McCarter was born in Alamance County, N.C. He retired as president of Alamance Community College and was former president of Southeastern Community College in Whiteville, N.C. He was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include daughters, Darlynn McCarter, Wake Forest, N.C., and Sandra Leach (Bill), Forest, Va.; grandchildren, Holt Broadhurst, Frances Broadhurst, William Leach, Caitlyn Leach and Noah Leach; and sister, Sarah Lee Cranford, of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Holt Mc-Carter; and parents, William L. McCarter and Alma Bookout McCarter.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at Emmanuel United Methodist Church.
The family will receive friends at Mc-Clure Funeral Home in Graham from 6 until 8 Monday evening with the Rev. Neal Salter, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.
