James Odell  "Bud" Summers 


    BURLINGTON — James Odell  "Bud" Summers , 57, of 1707 Birchwood Dr. went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 11, 2006 after several months of failing health.
    A native of Alamance County he is the son of Shelton Odell Summers  and Bonita Dimont Summers  Watson, who both survive. He leaves behind his loving wife, of 36 years, Mrs. Pansy Marie Wyrick Summers . He was the owner and operator of Summers  Forklift Repair and was a member of Riverdale Baptist Church, where he was a Deacon, and he served as a Troop Leader for the Boy Scouts of America. Mr. Summers  was a very loving husband and father and was a friend to everyone who knew him.
    Mr. Summers  is survived by his wife of the home; a son, James Odell Summers  II of Burlington; his father, Shelton Summers , and step mother, Alice Summers , of Burlington; his mother, Bonita Watson, of Burlington; four sisters, Brenda (Mack) Overman, Kathy (Stacey) Price, Ann Martin, all of Burlington, and Sue (James ) Duggins of Mebane; half sister, Tonya (Andy) McCoy of Elon; half brother, Steven (Belinda) Summers  of Burlington; several special nieces and nephews; and his favorite dog, Rocky. He was preceded in death by a son, Chad Andrew Summers ; a brother, Dean Summers ; and his beloved grandparents.
    The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 14, 2006 at Riverdale Baptist Church by the Rev. Eugene Webb and the Rev. Randy Hobbs. Interment will follow at Brown Wesleyan Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. this evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home.
