Mrs. Agnes Wood Blanchard
BURLINGTON — Mrs. Agnes Wood Blanchard, 77, of Alamance Plaza in Burlington died Friday, January 23, 2004, at Edgewood Place. A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late John Kenneth Blanchard. She was a member of St. Mark’s Reformed Church and was a self-employed beautician before retirement.
Mrs. Blanchard is survived by her daughter, Tracy Swangin, and husband, Hal, of Stoney Creek; granddaughter, Amber Swangin, of Stoney Creek; sisters, Laura W. Murray, of Houston, Texas and Polly W. Wilson of Graham; sister-in-law, Tom Moore, of Burlington; and brother-inlaw, W. Deoane Moser, of Elon. She was also preceded in death by her parents, L. Freeman Wood and Nina Southard Wood, and sister, Minnie W. Moser.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 until 12:00 noon on Monday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory. Rev. Ben Bishop will conduct graveside services at St. Mark’s Church Cemetery immediately following visitation. At other times, the family will be at the home of Hal and Tracy Swangin, 849 Creek Crossing Trail, Stoney Creek.
Hal, Tracy, and Amber would like to express a special "thank you" to the Edgewood Place caregivers, whom mom loved and considered her extended family, and to all our friends and family who continued to love and support mom and us during these last 12 months of sickness.
