Mrs. Opal Williams Gaydon
GRAHAM — Mrs. Opal Williams Gaydon , 91, formerly of 1134 South Main Street, died Saturday, August 4, 2006 at the Jefferson Family Care after several years of failing health.
A native of Alamance County, she was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church and was retired from Burlington Industries.
Survivors include a daughter, Betty Davis of Graham; a son, Bob Gaydon and wife Lana of Greensboro; two brothers, James D. Williams and wife Frances and Louie M. Williams and wife Ardell, all of Graham; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Benjamin Gaydon ; parents, Alford Robert Fletcher Williams and Mamie Roney Williams ; grandchildren, Kimberly Gaydon and J. Kurt Gaydon ; and two sisters, Elizabeth Marley and Mary Poe.
A graveside service will be conducted at 4 p.m. today, August 6, 2006, by the Rev. Norman Whitney, pastor of Bethany Presbyterian Church.
The family will receive friends at the McClure Funeral Home in Graham this afternoon from 2 until 3:30 and other times at the home of the daughter at 713 Banks Street in Graham.
