He was a graduate of Elon College and proudly served in the United States Army. In his professional life, Bobby was a leader in the banking industry, serving as President of First Federal Savings and Loan and later First State Bank. Even after his official retirement, Bobby continued to help others achieve their dreams of home ownership as the owner of NC Mortgage.

A man of deep love and loyalty, Bobby was a devoted husband to his wife, Lana T. Gaydon, and a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother. He was preceded in death by his parents, his cherished daughter Kimberly Deanne Gaydon, and his beloved son Joseph Kurt Gaydon.

A proud Carolina Tar Heel fan, Bobby found joy in cheering for his team, playing golf, and spending time at the beach. He loved to travel with Lana, and he especially treasured sharing his passion for golf and Tar Heel sports with his grandsons. Above all, Bobby will be remembered for his warm heart, his steady presence, and his unwavering love for his family.
He leaves behind a legacy of strength, kindness, and generosity that will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
