Loucilla Brady Chilton, 94, of Ramseur, died Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Hospice of Alamance-Caswell in Burlington.
Funeral Services, 11:00 AM, Monday, January 4, 2016, at Maple Springs United Methodist Church, Ramseur.
Officiating, Rev. Bob Dowling, Rev. Ron Wachs.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Loucilla was a native of Randolph County, a farmer, and a member of Maple Springs United Methodist Church. She worked in a cotton mill and then, with husband, bought and worked on a farm in the Coleridge Township. They were married on March 17, 1944. Her husband of 61 years died April 28, 2005. They were very active in Maple Springs United Methodist Church where she served as an officer in the United Methodist Women's missionary society, of which she was a charter member. She was a member of the choir, Sunday school teacher, and communion steward. She was also known for her strawberry cakes and was in charge of the neighborhood flower fund. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Chilton, her parents, Walter and Mae Kiser Brady, sister, Madar Garner, brothers, Walter Ray Brady, Mack Brady, and Garland Brady.
Survivors: daughter, Ronda Chilton Wagoner Whitesell, of Gibsonville, sisters, Ella Mae Fagg, Sue Greene, both of Asheboro, brothers, Worth Brady, and wife, Claudette, of Asheboro, Gale Brady, and wife, Mildred, of Columbia, SC., Lavan Brady, and wife, Linda, of Seagrove, grandson, Jamie Wagoner, and wife, Karen, of Burlington, great-grandsons, James Wagoner, Eric Wagoner, sister-in-law, Sarah Brady, numerous step-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation, 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Sunday, Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur and following the service in the church fellowship hall.
