MCLEANSVILLE, NC - Alice Shelton Loy, 95, of Ashton Place, McLeansville, was called to Heaven on Saturday, December 24, 2016, surrounded by her family.
She was born on December 30, 1920 in Burlington to the late Samuel and Annie Shelton. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Garland Thomas Loy, and 7 brothers and sisters.
She was a member of Faith Bible Chapel. Her favorite book was her Bible, and it taught her to love and see the best in everyone. She walked the path of her Savior, never met a stranger, and would help anyone in need. She was truly an angel on Earth.
She is survived by her loving daughters Kay Westmoreland of Greensboro and Beverly (Jim) Riley; her precious granddaughters, Kathryn (Bill) Blank of Charlotte, Stephanie (Glenn) Neighbour of Wilmington, Ashley (Bryan) Parrish, Meredith Mann; seven great grandchildren, Maggie, Ben, Will, Sam, Alex, Kaitlin, Owen; her brotherin-law, Joe Loy; a very special niece, Wilma Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her family was her life, and she was an amazing mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who will truly be missed by all.
A service to celebrate her life will take place on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 12 pm at Rich and Thompson Funeral Service in Burlington. Entombment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11 am to 12 pm prior to the service at Rich and Thompson, and at other times at the home of Jim and Beverly Riley in Burlington.
In lieu of flowers you may make contributions to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro.
