Walter W. Cooper
BURLINGTON – Mr. Walter W. Cooper, of Burlington, passed away at 9:49 a.m. Monday, August 22, 2016 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro.
Walter was born in Roanoke Rapids, NC, son of the late Walter Wells Cooper, Sr. and Mabel Bryant Cooper Rice.
He retired from the Burlington Police Department and the US Marshal Service.
Walter was of the Presbyterian Faith, a US Marine Corps Veteran of the Korean Conflict, a member of the Burlington Police Club, NRA, and Bula Lodge #409 A.F. & A.M.
Surviving are his wife Peggy Brannock Cooper, of the home; brother J. Russell Cooper and wife Mary Lee of Myrtle Beach, SC; nephew, Tony; and niece, Allison.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 25, 2016 at Alamance Memorial Park with Rev. David Franks officiating.
The family would like to offer special thanks to family, friends, Skid’s II, Boston Sandwich Shop and the Ariel Family for their kindness and support through the last few years.
