Mr. Kendall W. Johnson
GIBSONVILLE — Mr. Kendall W. Johnson, 54, of 6206 Loy Dr., Gibsonville, died Saturday, August 17, 2013 at his residence.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Tracey Spoon Johnson, who survives, and son of the late Winfred L. Johnson and Sylvia P. Johnson, who survives. He was employed with the Quality Department at Cone Health in Greensboro and of the Christian faith. He earned a B.S. Degree in Wildlife Biology from N.C. State, ADN from ACC, B.S. Degree in Industrial Engineering from N.C. A&T State, Master’s in Industrial Engineering from N.C. A&T State and a MBA from UNC-G.
Surviving, other than his wife of the home and mother, of Gibsonville, are two sisters, Linda J. Bell of Graham and Sheryl J. Long (Wayne) of Topeka, KS; two step-sisters, Patricia J. Franklin and Roberta J. Helmsin, both of Wilmington; step-brother, Edward “Bo” Johnson (Burgess) of Wilmington; mother-inlaw, Judy L. Spoon of Snow Camp; brother-in-law, Todd Spoon of Burlington; and multiple aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews as well as his beloved pets, Spirit Dog and his quirky Emmie Kittles .
He was preceded in death by his father-inlaw, Gene Spoon.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 21, at Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tom Miller and the Rev. Fred Roberts offi ciating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The casket will be placed in the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home & Crematory in Graham from 6-8:30 p.m., Tuesday evening. Other times the family will be at the residence.
