GREENSBORO - Mr. Cleo "Sonny" Edison Gerringer, Jr., 69, a former resident of Edith Lane died Tuesday at Camden Place. Mr. Gerringer was born October 28, 1942 in Greensboro, the son of Cleo Edison Gerringer, Sr. and Ruth Henson Gerringer. Sonny was employed with Guilford Mills for 35 years before retiring.
Surviving are his daughter, Bettina Mize and husband Brandien of Greensboro; one sister, Ann Sharpe and husband Dan of Trinity; two brothers, Jimmy Gerringer and wife Carolyn of Randleman, Jerry Gerringer and wife Michele of Greensboro; three grandchildren, Micheal Chaffin, Kelly Mize, Katelin Mize; his aunt, Ianthia LaMarr and husband Jack of McLeansville, and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Guilford Memorial Park officiated by Reverend Jack Morris. Mr. Gerringer will remain at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel where the family will receive friends on Friday from 1 p.m. until service time.
