Jack Vernon Zimmerman
Jack Vernon Zimmerman, 87, a native of Guilford County, lived most of his life on Burch Bridge Road, Burlington. He was the son of the late Stiner E. and Ida Garrison and was the husband of the late Evaline Barrett Zimmerman. He was employed by Burlington Industries for over 60 years.
He is survived by a daughter, Donna (James E.) Miles; two sons, Chris Zimmerman and James A. (Lisa) Miles; three grandchildren, Amanda Miles, Dawn Zimmerman and Jamie (Kimberly) Miles; two great-granddaughters, Elizabeth and Cadence Miles; one step-daughter, Phyllis (Derrick) Campbell; three step-grandchildren, Megan (Dave) McPherson, Owen and Carson Campbell; and one step-greatgrandson, Cooper McPherson. He is also survived by a sister, Jean (Guy) Tilley of Burlington; brother, Marshall (Vernett) Zimmerman of Burlington; and two nieces and a nephew.
He was predeceased by his parents, wife, daughter, Ann Zimmerman and the mother of his children, Billie Jean Zimmerman.
He had a special love for a little girl, Alexis and his canine companion, Buddy.
He loved his family and extended family, but his greatest joy in life was watching his nephew Ziggy racing.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Saturday, September 30, 2017 from 6 until 8 p.m. Other times the family will be at the residence.
A graveside service will be conducted at Alamance Memorial Park on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at 3 p.m.
