Mrs. Rosa Ella Overman Whitt 

    BURLINGTON — Mrs. Rosa Ella Overman Whitt , 81, of 3467 Garden Road., passed away at 4:42 p.m., Friday, May 25, 2007, at Hospice & Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell.
    A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late James Russell Whitt  and daughter of the late Kerney E. Overman  Sr. and Maggie Eula Shoffner Overman . Mrs. Whitt  was a member of St. Mark’s Church.
    Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Rose Ann Whitt  Hargrove and husband Harold of Snow Camp; two sons, Mr. Tony Russell Whitt  of Greensboro and Mr. Ricky Lee Whitt  and wife Tina of Clemmons; six grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Martha Overman  Sharpe, Mrs. Virginia Overman  Murray and Mrs. Nellie Overman  Braxton Duckum, all of Burlington; and one brother, Mr. Kerney E. Overman  Jr. of Burlington.
    Besides her husband and parents, Mrs. Whitt  was preceded in death by a brother, Mr. Warren Vasteen Overman .
    Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 28, 2007, at St. Mark’s Church with the Rev. Ben Bishop officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
    The family will receive friends in the St. Mark’s Church lobby following the committal service and other times at her residence, 3467 Garden Road., Burlington. The casket will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service, and friends may view Mrs. Whitt  at Rich & Thompson Mortuary in Burlington after noon today.
    Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Carolina Piedmont Chapter, 3420 Shamrock Dr., Charlotte, N.C. 28215-3298 or to Hospice & Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, N.C. 27215.
    The family would like to thank all of the healthcare facilities, professionals and staff who assisted with the care of Mrs. Whitt .
