Allen Scott McBane

Mr. Allen Scott McBane, 84, of Snow Camp, died at his residence on Thursday, June 29, 2017.

A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Linda Guthrie McBane, who survives and the son of Allen Reece McBane and Mary Stout McBane, both deceased.

Mr. McBane retired from Great American Knitting Mills. He was an active member of Chatham Friends Meeting and Spring Friends Meeting where he served as a Sunday School teacher and choir member. He was a member of the Eli Whitney Ruritan Club.

In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include a son, Matthew McBane and wife Melissa of Burlington; daughter, Sarah McBane and husband John An of California; three brothers, Floyd McBane and Dewey McBane, both of Snow Camp and John McBane of Haw River; and three sisters, Evelyn Braxton and Treva Newlin, both of Snow Camp and Catherine Meyers of Pittsboro.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and James McBane.

The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham on Saturday, July 1, 2017 from 6 until 8 p.m. Other times they will be at the residence.

A memorial service will be conducted at Chatham Friends Meeting on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. by Rev. John Helton and Rev. David Hobson.
