BURLINGTON, N.C. — Barbara Keatts Buckner, age 67, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 27, 2011 at Twin Lakes surrounded by her family. She was a native of Rock Hill, South Carolina.
Barbara was the co-founder of Buckner Rental Service in Houma, Louisiana. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and sister and will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughters, Pam Buckner and her partner Molly Parker of Graham, Robin Bonvillain and her husband Blaine of Burlington; grandchildren, Hayley and Hilary Bonvillain; mother, Mazell Walker Keatts of Burlington; sisters, Patricia Owens of Greensboro, Myrtie Wrenn and her husband Curtis of Elon and Rachel Durham and her husband Bill of Graham; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Ambrose Keatts; and a brother, James Calvin Keatts.
The family of Barbara Buckner would like to gratefully acknowledge the care and support of the nurses and staff of Hospice of Alamance-Caswell and the nursing staff and support staff of Twin Lakes for all their compassionate
care over the past months.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, May 30, 2011, at 2 p.m. in the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Chaplain Susan Kane of Hospice of Alamance-Caswell and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home and at other times at 717 Trails End Drive, Graham, N.C. 27253.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, c/o Barbara Buckner, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, N.C. 27215.
